Rappers and Logos
It’s like a mini-doc
Chris Martin is definitely the coolest multi-hypenate I’ve ever met. This is a beautiful video he put together profiling me and the Dead Poets Society project. Check out more of his work at chrismartinstudios.com
Rappers on Tour
Just in the nick of time to celebrate 50 years of Hip-Hop, Dead Poets Society had a great opening in an empty store front on Main Street. My wife and I transformed it for an evening and invited friends down to see what we’ve been working on. It was so fucking fun and satisfying. Seeing years of work hanging in the same place at the same time and being there to enjoy people seeing them for the first time. It’s a memory I will have for the rest of my life.
After the initial opening the Dead Poets went on tour, starting with The Vancouver School of Arts and Academics. I gave some talks to about the project and got to be a hero to my kids. I really enjoyed interacting with the students and hopefully inspiring the younger generations.
As of the writing of this post the Dead Poets are currently on display at The Vancouver Library in their Grey Gallery. They will be there all of May and June ‘24, go check out a book and check them out while you’re at it.
A new gallery
The Logo and Branding gallery is now live on the Work page. I get so wrapped up in the present sometimes I forget all the wonderful people and businesses I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. It was cool looking back over my logo work and picking some of my favorites. A lot of the businesses I’ve worked with are no longer around but I’m still proud of the work I did for them.
I’ve made a commitment to working on this site more. I want it to be representative of me and what I’m into, I want it to feel more full. So I’ve decided to spend at least an hour every day working on it. The logo page is an example of like 3 days of this approach. Plus there’s this blog post.
